Utopian Mobile App

The Utopian mobile application will have various functions with an emphasis on two in particular, socialization and voting. The use of this application would be entirely optional for the Utopian community. Regarding socialization, members can set up their profile through the application to communicate information the user would like the community to know. Examples include if they are open to making friends, business partners, and or romantic interests. Only those who are interested in the same type of relationships would see this information, and specific filters and settings will be made available to make it as specific as needed. In the mobile application profile, the user can add personal interests, this matches individuals with shared interests and makes suggestions for the user, so they can reach out and immediately have something in common to discuss with another member. The voting aspect of this application is primarily meant to vote for leadership or for projects such as the ones listed in this section. Members can also submit ideas they have within the mobile application for the community to vote on and provide constructive feedback to help crowddevelop ideas that can further USF objectives and interests.

Another optional feature is the ability to be notified when a Member is within a certain vicinity of the user but out of range of a Community Center. This only works when both users have turned on this feature. If both individuals have it turned on, it notifies you without telling you their location and provides the option of asking both individuals if they would like to chat for a moment. It is anonymous at this point, and only when they both agree to meet, would the profiles be shared. Community Center information and resources, calendar events, educational content recommended for review, and all information deemed important will be communicated through this application.
