Forgiveness

We believe that forgiveness is a personal choice. Forgiveness could potentially help someone move on from a negative experience. Part of the logical process of forgiveness might be trying to have a better understanding of the person/people and or situation that caused you distress. Having that greater knowledge may provide insight as to how negative acts/behavior can happen, and hopefully provide some closure, a release of anger and reduce the stress associated with what happened.

Addiction

The term addiction is normally used to describe feeling the strong regular urge to do something that is considered not healthy to the individual, like substance abuse or gambling, for example. Being addicted to something that is generally positive, like exercise, might not be a problem at all. With that said, living a balanced lifestyle, one where you are not dependent on any particular activity might be a good idea. This helps to be more adaptable, especially if you are in a situation in which you are unable to do what you feel you are addicted to.

Tobacco

It is well known that regular tobacco use increases an individual's chances of getting cancer. Naturally, that is not something Utopian Survivalism would encourage. However, we do think it is a personal choice, and that individuals need to be informed of the risks. With that said, under no circumstance should a person ever smoke in a way that would contribute to secondhand smoke. It would be advised to smoke in private or with other smokers, so as to not influence others to start smoking.
