As our community continues to grow, the next major step and priority for the Utopian Survivalist Federation is to build our Community Centers. These can be thought of as the equivalent of churches for Christians, or mosques for Muslims. The Community Centers will also be known as Learning & Leisure Centers, L&L’s, or “Centers.”

The Community Centers will range in size and services based on the needs and resources of the local community. L&L’s may be very modest and practical for a smaller community as compared to a much larger Community Center for major cities. A comparison could be made in regards to the size of the larger L&L’s to that of some Christian churches, what has been referred to as megachurches. Some of these megachurches are compounds that have elementary and high schools located within them, football fields, coffee shops, and other amenities. While our Community Centers will be significantly different, the comparison is merely made for the purposes of understanding the scope of what they could one day become. It is not a new concept that a religion/ideology has a significant amount of land, space, and building infrastructure.

There will be a general guideline for what will be at every Community Center. However, as the needs and funding would be different for the local community, each L&L community would largely decide on what amenities and services they would like to have. The standard guidelines for services would include features such as an area dedicated to personal spiritual practice, growth, and wellness. This is an area for individuals to have the freedom to embrace Utopian Spirituality, which means having the freedom to do so however they choose. This might mean meditation for some, prayer for others, and/or any form of spiritual appreciation and or pursuit of spiritual enlightenment. Other standard aspects of an L&L will include a library with books on various topics and sciences and computers and internet access, with an area dedicated to school work, as well as a co-working space for those working on personal projects and business ventures. This will be separated but near to another area for computer gaming and leisure purposes. All L&L’s will have an underground bunker for emergency purposes in which food and water reserves will be kept among other survival resources and tools. Each Center will have an area for meetings and group discussions. In the outside area there will be a patio for socialization and leisure activities. If there is sufficient outdoor space, there will also be a community garden.
